“Vanishing Stars and the Hunt for Extraterrestrial Artifacts”

Are we alone in the Universe? Can a star just vanish? If we are visited by alien probes, will astronomers be ready? Searching for mysterious anomalies takes us on a journey among astronomical phenomena and leads us to ideas for how alien technology would be spotted in an astronomer’s work. We will see results from searches for disappearing stars from the Vanishing & Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations (VASCO) project and hear about the newly started ExoProbe that will search for possible alien artifacts in our own Solar System.
